Marc Roberts
Marc Roberts (born June 25, 1968 in Crossmolina , County Mayo ) is an Irish singer and songwriter. He represented Ireland at the 1997 Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin .
In 1997 he won the Irish preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest with the song Mysterious Woman, composed and written by John Farry . He appeared as for the title defending country, since Eimear Quinn had won the Eurovision Song Contest and reached second place behind Katrina & The Waves with 157 points.
In 1998 he released his self-titled debut album. He also works for radio, for example on the Songmakers program on RTÉ Radio 1 .
In 2008 he took part in the Eurosong , the Irish preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 , with the self-composed song Chances . However, it was not he who won, but Dustin the Turkey .
Roberts regularly recorded other albums, most recently A Tribute to the Music of John Denver .
