Voting was done by SMS and televoting. After the entries there was also a jury, including Dana , who won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1970 . But the jury had no voting weight.

Dustin the Turkey reached 15th place in the 1st semifinals of the contest , so he couldn't qualify for the final.

- Marc Roberts represented Ireland at the 1997 Eurovision Song Contest . He got a second place.
- The Slovenian Maja Slatinšek was also represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 : as the background singer of Anžej Dežan .
- Dustin the Turkey was considered a favorite in advance.
