Aaron Popoola (born March 22, 1942 in Accra ) is a former Ghanaian boxer who competed at the 1968 Summer Olympics in the welterweight class (67 kilograms). The 168 centimeter tall Popoola competed for the Accra Hearts of Oak club .

At the Commonwealth Games in 1962, Popoola was defeated by the Kenyan Ali Juma in the quarter-finals of the 57-kilogram class on points. In the 1966 competitions , the Ghanaian was able to reach the final of the 63.5 kilogram class after a semi-final victory over Ray Maguire from Australia or Alex Odhiambo from Uganda, where he was defeated by Northern Irishman Jim McCourt on points. Also in 1966 he took part in the African Championship, where he won the final of the 63.5 kilogram class against Ernest Dong ( Cameroon ).

Furthermore, the Ghanaian stepped in an international match in Bydgoszcz in 1962 against the Pole Piotr Gutman , where he lost on points. He also lost a point in the international match in Stettin that same year against Gutman's compatriot Jerzy Adamski . Both fights were featherweight.

At the Summer Olympics in 1968 Popoola reached the second round with a bye , where he was defeated by the Turks Celal Sandal with 2: 3 rounds on points.
