Milk & Honey was a three-piece Israeli pop group . She became known throughout Europe in 1979 when she won the Eurovision Song Contest with the singer Gali Atari with the song Hallelujah .
Career
The band had previously won the Hebrew Song & Chorus Festival, which Israel served as the national preliminary decision for the song contest. In front of a home crowd in Jerusalem , their title then prevailed against the European competition, and Milk & Honey won after Izhar Cohen with A-Ba-Ni-Bi the second Israeli victory in the Song Contest.
After this success, a joint album was created in collaboration with Atari, which was recorded half in Hebrew, half in English. 1980 followed - without Atari, but now with the singer Leah Lupatin - the album 2 , which was only released in Israel. The single Electric Money , however, appeared in Germany and the Netherlands, among others. Lupatin had also already gained Eurovision experience: in 1976 she was part of the women's trio Chocolate Menta Mastik , which came in sixth with Emor Shalom .
In 1981 Milk & Honey again took part in the Israeli preliminary round - the first Kdam Eurovision . With Serenada they reached fourth place out of twelve participants. In 1989 the group tried one last time, but with Ani ma'amin they only came in eighth out of twelve participants.
In 1995 a greatest hits collection was published in Israel.
