Sarit Hadad

Sarit Hadad ( Hebrew שרית חדד, German transcription: Sarit Chadad ; * September 20, 1978 in Hadera , Israel ) is an Israeli singer and musician who took part in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2002 . Her real name is Sarah Chodedtow .

Life

When she was eight, she performed in a local club and played classical music on the piano . She taught herself the organ , guitar , accordion and darabuka , among other things . At the age of 15, she joined the Hadera Youth Band.

During her solo career, Hadad released numerous gold and platinum albums and reached top positions in the Israeli charts. In 2002 she represented Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song Light a Candle and thus reached twelfth place.

Sarit Hadad spent most of her school years at the Democratic School of Hadera .
