Ilanit (born Channa Dresner on September 17, 1947 in Tel Aviv-Jaffa ) is an Israeli singer.

When she was 15, she was discovered at a talent competition. Together with her then-husband, Shlomo Tsach, she formed the hit duo Ilan & Ilanit , which was a great success in Israel in the 1960s. After the group broke up in 1969, she became active as a solo singer. She took part in several international singing competitions and was allowed to represent Israel twice in the Eurovision Song Contest : At the 1973 competition in Luxembourg , she made the first Israeli contribution in ESC history. As a security measure against an assassination attempt , it is often claimed that she had to wear a bulletproof vest under her wide ethnic dress when she appeared . With the title Ey Sham ("Somewhere") she reached fourth place. At the 1977 competition in London she took eleventh place with Ahava Hi Shir Lishnayim ("Love is a song for two"). At that time she was one of the most successful singers in Israel. In addition to her pop and hit music, she also sang albums with children's songs. Between 1972 and 1977 around half a dozen singles were also released in German.
