Dafna Dekel (born May 7, 1966 in Ashdod ) is an Israeli singer and actress .

Life

Dekel was born in Ashdod in southern Israel in 1966 and served in the Nachal Brigade of the Israel Defense Forces in the 1980s , where she was a member of the "Nachal Music Band".

After her release, Dekel played in the musical Salah Shabati , which was produced in memory of the 40th anniversary of Israel's independence. In 1989 she released her first album.

In 1992 Dafna Dekel represented her home country at the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö , where she took sixth place with the song Ze rak sport ( It's just sport ). After that, she was a regular on the Pilei Kaim show until 1995 .

In 1999 she moderated the Eurovision Song Contest in Jerusalem .

In 2001 Dekel played in the musical Shilgiya , for which she composed the songs. She later appeared in the series Agadat Deshe .

In 2017 a new Dekel album was released with Ha'osef .
