Helga Vlahović (also Helga Vlahović-Brnobić, Helga Vlahović-Pea ; born January 28, 1945 in Zagreb ; † February 27, 2012 ibid.) Was an Austrian - Croatian presenter , journalist and television producer.

Life

Vlahović started at Radiotelevizija Zagreb in 1964 , while she was still studying German, English and art history at the University of Zagreb . She dropped out of college due to work. In 1966 she became the presenter of various entertainment and music shows on television, including TV Magazin .

In 1968 she moderated the Sopot Festival in Poland, and in 1971 a festival in Scheveningen , the Netherlands . Then she took over the morning show Jugoslavijo, dobar dan ( Good afternoon, Yugoslavia ) in 1972 . In the years 1977 and 1978, she hosted the musical variety show Svjetla pozornice ( stage lights ). From 1978 to 1980 she organized Jadranski susreti ( Adriatic Reunification , a Yugoslav version of Games without Frontiers ).

Together with Oliver Mlakar , Vlahović hosted the Eurovision Song Contest in Zagreb in 1990 . In 2009 she was honored with the Golden Medal for Services to the Republic of Austria .
