Viktor Lazlo
Viktor Lazlo (* 7. October 1960 in Lorient , France , actually Sonia Dronier) is a French-Belgian pop - singer . She chose her stage name based on the fictional resistance fighter Victor László (played by Paul Henreid ) from the film Casablanca .
Life & work
Dronier was born in France to Caribbean parents. Her mother was from Grenada and her father from Martinique . She went to Belgium to study and worked as a model in Brussels . There, a music producer found her in a night club, who noticed her because of her exotic appearance. With him she recorded her first single Casanova . Her subsequent album She became a huge success in Belgium and was also successful in Germany and Japan. For the French market she sang titles in French; she also sang titles in Spanish and German.
Her biggest hit so far was Breathless in 1987. In the same year she hosted the Grand Prix Eurovision from Belgium . In Germany she became known through the duet with Stefan Waggershausen The first time it hurts from 1990. In 1991, Jesse was followed by another hit duet with Stefan Waggershausen. In 1994 she recorded angels like you with Juliane Werding and Maggie Reilly . However, there were no further major successes. In addition to her musical career, she also worked as an actress. She appeared in guest roles with Commissioner Moulin , Commissioner Navarro and La Crim ' as well as in the movie Les Faussaires alongside Jean-Marc Barr .
Her single Promised Land was released in 2016 and Lola & Jim in 2017 . The album Woman was also released in 2017 .
