Søren Pilmark (born October 16, 1955 in Copenhagen ) is a Danish actor and director . He attended drama school at the Aarhus Teater . Pilmark has appeared in over 40 films, mostly Danish. He became internationally known through Lars von Trier's television series Hospital of the Spirits and the film Flickering Lights .

In Denmark and Scandinavia he is also very well known for his commercials for the Danish state railways DSB , in which he appears together with the doll "Harry". DSB's "Harry Campaign" is one of the longest running, well-designed advertising campaigns in Denmark.

Pilmark is a member of the Danish cabaret quartet Ørkenens Sønner (Sons of the Desert) , whose crude singing games are also broadcast on Danish television.

On May 12, 2001, the 46th Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen was moderated by Natasja Crone and Søren Pilmark, who presented their announcements and interludes in rhyme.

Søren Pilmark made his directorial debut in 2006 as director of the short film " Helmer & Søn ", which was nominated for an Oscar in the category "Best Short Film" .
