Blažovice (German Bläswitz , also Blasowitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located 13 kilometers east of the city center of Brno and belongs to the Okres Brno-venkov . The battle of Austerlitz took place in the corridors of the community in 1805 .

geography

Blažovice is located between the Drahaner Bergland and the Steinitz Forest in the foothills of the Thaya-Schwarza valley by the Romza brook. The D 1 motorway passes to the north, the next exit of which is 210 at Holubice . The Brno-Blažovice railway line and the railway lines in the direction of Vyškov and Bučovice lead to Blažovice .

Neighboring towns are Tvarožná in the north, Kruh and Holubice in the northeast, Křenovice in the southeast, Zbýšov in the south, Prace and Ponětovice in the southwest and Jiříkovice in the west.

history

Archaeological finds prove a settlement of the communal corridors since the Stone Age. The greatest discovery was on the site of the old brickworks 28 body graves from the bell beaker culture , dating from around 3000 BC. Were dated.

The first documentary mention was made in 1131 in a property register of the Diocese of Olomouc . In 1317 Katharina von Lomnitz, b. from Deblín, the Dominican monastery in Old Brno, among other villages also Velké and Malé Blažovice.

In 1725 the Blasowitzer Hof was rebuilt by the monastery of St. Anna in Brno . On this occasion, Oberin Beatrix Luxenthal had a memorial plaque made in German, which was preserved. Until the dissolution of the monastery in the course of the Josephine reforms of 1782, Blasowitz belonged to the monastery estates.

2nd December 1805 Blasowitz was the battlefield of the northeastern part Battle of Three Emperors . The village was devastated. After the fight, torn bodies of the fallen remained in the corridors and in the village. On November 22nd, 1822 Franz Graf Dietrichstein-Proskau bought the Blaziowitz estate from the state administration and added it to the allodial rule of Sokolnitz . At that time the language in Sokolnitz was "entirely Moravian", while in Bläswitz "partly Moravian, partly German" was spoken. The last landlords were Count Mitrovský. In 1934 the church was completed.
