history

The village was first mentioned in writing in 1255 in a document from the Saar monastery , in which Macek von Vohančice and his son of the same name appeared as witnesses. The seat of the family, which acted as locators for the settlement of the area in the 13th century, was the fortress north of the village. The owner of Vohančice was Pavel Šilhéř from Vohančice in 1390, and in 1437 it belonged to Hašek from Vohančice. Part of the von Vohančice family was in the service of the Pernsteiners . The family expanded their property towards the end of the 15th century. In 1494, Beneš von Vohančice bought the village and the mill Skalička and the village and the fortress Horní Rozsíčka from Vratislav von Pernstein . In the middle of the 16th century, at the same time as the Pernsteins, the decline of the Vohanský and Vahanský knights began. Although they acquired Křoví in the second half of the 16th century , Jan Vohanský von Vohančice sold Křoví to Heinrich / Jindřich Březnický von Náchod as early as 1569 . Four years later he also sold the Vohančice fortress including the Vorwerkshof to Johann Berger von Berg ( Jan Pergarovi z Pergu ). From 1596, under Karl Berger von Berg, the fortress was converted into a small castle. Because of his participation in the class uprising of 1618, goods of Johann Christoph Berger von Berg were confiscated after the battle of the White Mountain and sold in 1623 to the head captain of the Olomouc bishopric, Hans von Melsing. In 1636, the guard captain of Empress Maria, Alonso de Castro, acquired the rule Vohančice with the associated villages Vohančice, Závist and Heroltice . He had the castle rebuilt and greatly enlarged. He got over-indebted and his Carlo had to sell the property to Paul Albrecht von Teuburg. This sold it in 1676 to Heinrich Slawikowetz von Slawikow. His widow Franziska Elisabeth, married again Dubský, sold Vohančice in 1694 to Karl Maximilian Lev von Rosental . In 1701 the city of Brno acquired the Vohančice estate to enlarge the Deblín estate and added it to the Kuřim estate . In 1793 Vohančice consisted of 14 houses and 102 inhabitants. Until the middle of the 19th century, Vohančice remained part of Kuřim.

After the abolition of patrimonial Vohančice formed from 1850 a district of Tischnowitz in the Brno district and judicial district Tischnowitz . In 1868 the village of Vohančice was established with the district Závist. Since 1896 Vohančice belonged to the newly formed district of Tischnowitz. In 1938 the road from Vohančice to Závist was established as a connection to the Deblín-Tišnov district road. After the dissolution of the Okres Tišnov, the municipality Vohančice came to the Okres Brno-venkov at the beginning of 1961 . 1986 Vohančice was incorporated into Tišnov. In 1990 the Vohančice commune was established again. The former district of Závist remained with Tišnov; since 2002 he has been part of Předklášteří .

Attractions

  • Vohančice Castle, the three-wing, two-storey complex is located on the northern outskirts below the Nad Zámkem mountain . In the years 1596 to 1600, Karl Berger von Berg had the old fortress from the 13th century expanded into a single-wing Renaissance castle. From 1636, Alfons de Castro began to add two baroque wings. After the city of Brno became the owner of Vohančice in 1701, the chateau served as an estate administration and official residence. In 1948 the castle became the legal entity of the JZD Vohančice, which let it deteriorate. After 1990 the castle was returned to the city of Brno in restitution, which it sold a little later. A gradual repair is currently taking place.
  • Chapel of St. Josef, erected in 1906 instead of a prayer column
