history

The first written mention of the settlement Tvarožnice took place in a document of the Bohemian King Wenceslas II from the year 1288. In 1297 Bozenitz was mentioned for the first time. At the beginning of the 14th century, both villages belonged to the Königinkloster in Altbrünn. The church in Bozenitz was also built at this time. The clerical administration referred to itself from 1322 as pastor of Twaroschna . In the middle of the 15th century the German village Bozenitz ( Važanice ) was merged with the Czech village Tvarožnice to form a village Twaroschna . The owners of the place changed frequently. In German usage the village was called Bosenitz . Martin Friedrich Pruskauer, who came from a farming family in Bosenitz, was knighted in 1663 with the title of Freienfels . In 1713 his descendant Johann Christian von Freienfels bought the villages of Wellatitz and Bosenitz and added them to his rule of Lösch. On December 21, 1798, the Russian general Suvorov occupied the area of Šlapanice with 24,000 men . The Russians camped here until January 9, 1799 and used up all of the residents' supplies; after their departure an emergency broke out. In the days before the Battle of Austerlitz , Bosenitz was sacked by French troops at the end of 1805. During the battle, General Claparède's artillery brigade was fired on the Santon . The village was one of the most devastated places on the battlefield after the battle. The church received the most hits. In 1819 Franz Ritter von Freienfels bequeathed the villages of Wellatitz and Bosenitz to Count Eduard Belcredi.

After the abolition of patrimonial Bosenitz / Tvarožná formed from 1850 a political municipality in the district authority of Brno . The volunteer fire brigade was founded in 1891, but the village had had a fire engine since 1831. In 1921, Tvarožná was assigned to the newly formed Okres Brno-venkov. The Count Belcredi estate was parceled out in 1924. Between 1950 and 1960 the municipality belonged to the Okres Brno-okolí, from 1961 back to the Okres Brno-venkov.
