history

The first written mention of the Vladikensitz Rebešovice took place in 1174. In the following year Vladike Ondřej von Rebešovice gave the village to the Rajhrad monastery . In 1340 the village was called Rebieschowicz and in 1406 as Rybessovicz .

In 1694, Provost Benno von Brancouze had a castle built on the site of the Freihof . Because of its location reminiscent of a Christmas mountain , the village was popularly known as Betlémek in the 18th and 19th centuries . During this time, other small sacred buildings were also built.

After the abolition of patrimonial Rebešovice formed from 1850 a municipality in the district administration Hustopeče . In 1948 the municipality was assigned to the Okres Židlochovice. After its abolition, Rebešovice came to Okres Brno-venkov in 1961.
