history

Moutnice was first mentioned in writing in 1298. Znata von Lomnitz and his three sons donated most of Moutnice to the monastery of St. Anna near Brno with the stipulation that the income from the village should initially be used as treasure trove of his daughter, Prioress Elisabeth of Lomnitz. Five hubs in the village belonged to Ulrich Pustka von Strabenitz, who sold them in 1359 to the brothers Albrecht and Zdenko von Sternberg († 1359). Przibik von Zarussek was named as the owner of another one and a half Huben in 1397. The nunnery later acquired these shares as well. Between 1528 and 1548 the village together with Těšany and Šitbořice was pledged to Heinrich von Lomnitz, after which the monastery redeemed the pledge. After the abolition of the monastery in the course of the Josephine reforms, Moutnice became part of the Klobouky dominion . In 1784, after the lordly Mautnitz farm was parceled out, the Rosalienfeld settlement north of the village of Mautnitz was established. In the following year, funds from the Religionsfonds were used in Mautnitz to set up a restaurant that also included a Catholic school. In addition to Mautnitz, the villages of Tieschan , Rosalienfeld and Neudorf as well as the Meierhöfe Neuhof, Galdhof, Carlshof and Henriettenhof were parish after Mautnitz. In 1834 Mautnitz consisted of 65 houses and had 340 inhabitants. 106 people lived in the 22 houses in Rosalienfeld. Mautnitz and Rosalienfeld remained subservient to Klobauk until the middle of the 19th century . A parish of its own was set up in Tieschan at that time.

After the abolition of patrimonial Moutnice / Mautnitz and Rozářín / Rosalienfeld formed two independent municipalities in the Auspitz district administration from 1850 . In 1949 the communities were assigned to the new Okres Židlochovice. In 1951, Rozářín and Moutnice merged to form a municipality Moutnice . Since the abolition of the Židlochovice Okres in 1961, Moutnice has belonged to the Brno-venkov Okres.

Moutnice is the seat of the agricultural joint-stock company Agro MONET , which cultivates most of the fields in Moutnice and the surrounding areas. Most of the residents of the village work in Brno.
