Javůrek (German Jawurek ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located eleven kilometers southeast of Velká Bíteš and belongs to the Okres Brno-venkov .

geography

Javůrek is located in Bobravská vrchovina on a ridge between the valleys of the Bílý potok and Říčanský potok. The village lies on the edge of the Údolí Bílého potoka nature park. Košná hora (427 m) rises to the northeast. The D1 / E 55 / E 65 motorway passes in the south , the next exit 168 is at Lesní Hluboké .

Neighboring towns are Šmelcovna , Lažanský Mlyn, Maršov and Lažánky in the north, Holasice and Veverská Bítýška in the Northeast, Hvozdec and Novy Dvur in the east, Veverské Knínice , Říčany and Dolní Říčky in the southeast, Říčky and Domašov in the south, Zhořský Dvůr and Zálesná Zhoř in the West and Lesní Hluboké and Radoškov in the northwest.

history

The first written mention of the village belonging to the Eichhorn lordship was in 1399. In 1722, the Eichhorn Hut ( Veverská huť ) was built north of the village in the valley of the Bílý potok . The ironworks produced until 1850.

After the abolition of patrimonial Javůrky formed a community in the Brno district from 1850. From 1897 it belonged to the Velké Meziříčí district and from 1921 to the Okres Brno-venkov. The place name Javůrek has been used since 1923 . During the German occupation in 1941/42, the organizer of the national resistance, General Vojtěch Boris Luža , hid in Javůrek . In 1948 the community was assigned to the Okres Rosice. After its abolition, Javůrek came back to Okres Brno-venkov in 1961.
