Kuřimská Nová Ves (German Neudorf bei Gurein ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located eight kilometers northeast of Velká Bíteš and belongs to the Okres Brno-venkov .

geography

Kuřimská Nová Ves is located in the Křižanovská vrchovina (Krischanauer Upland) belonging to the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands on the right side above the valleys of the Halda and Libochovka in the basin of a small tributary to the Libochovka. The Brno-Havlíčkův Brod railway runs west of the village, and the nearest railway station, Níhov, is two and a half kilometers to the southwest. To the north rises the Pláně (477 m) and to the east of the Mlýnský vrch (435 m).

Neighboring towns are Kutiny and Řikonín in the north, Újezd ​​u Tišnova and Chytálky in the northeast, Kuřimské Jestřabí in the east, Blahoňov in the southeast, Prosatín in the south, Katov in the southwest, Na Burkách and Níhov in the west and Lubné in the northwest.

The village was first mentioned in writing in 1364.

After the abolition of patrimonial Nová Ves Kuřím / Neudorf Gurein formed a municipality in the Brno district from 1850. At the end of the 19th century the village was called Nová Ves u Kuřími . Since 1896 the community belonged to the newly formed district of Tischnowitz under the name Nová Ves u Kuříma . At the beginning of the 20th century the name Kuřímská Nová Ves prevailed and since 1923 the place has the official name Kuřimská Nová Ves . In 1939 the construction of the railway line from Tišnov to Havlíčkův Brod west of the village began . During the German occupation, an underground manufacturing facility of Messerschmitt GmbH was built in the two tunnels of the route under the code name Diana , in which wings were produced. POW camps were set up in the area at the end of the Second World War. The barracks of the Kutiny camp were converted into recreational facilities after the end of the war. After the dissolution of the Okres Tišnov, the village came to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou at the beginning of 1961 . On January 1, 2002, Prosatín was incorporated. Since the beginning of 2005, the municipality of Kuřimská Nová Ves belongs to the Okres Brno-venkov . The Church of St. Anthony of Padua is a branch of the Deblín parish .
