history

Archaeological finds show an early settlement in the area of the municipality. When the gravel pit was opened up, a 30,000-year-old storage site with remains of mammoth and reindeer bones was found. Bones and skulls that are 5000 years old and Slavic ceramic remains from the 7th century have been found in the village.

The present village probably existed as early as the 12th century and belonged to the Rosa Coeli monastery . The first written mention of Bratčice was made in 1537 in the monastery chronicle in a report on the sale of several villages of the extinct monastery by Ferdinand I to the Bohemian Vice Chancellor Jiří Žabka von Limberg. Subsequently various Moravian noble families took turns as owners of the village. This included the corporal Svatoš Jeník, by Rudolf II. In the Vladikenstand was raised and the predicate Jeník accepted by Bratřice. Later Bratčice was again attached to the Kounice rule . Over time, the place was called Bratřice , Bračice , Braczicz and Bratschütz .

After the abolition of patrimonial Bračice formed from 1850 a municipality in the district authority Auspitz . Since 1923 the place has been called Bratčice . Between 1948 and 1960 the municipality belonged to the Okres Židlochovice. After its abolition, Bratčice was assigned to the Okres Brno-venkov. 1980 Bratčice was with Sobotovice and Ledce after Syrovice incorporated. The municipality of Bratčice has existed again since 1990 and since 2000 it has had a coat of arms and a banner.

To the south of the village there is a large tertiary sand deposit as well as a marl and clay deposit. There were four brickworks in Bratčice for a while. Diorite was broken north of the place . Sand continues to be mined today.
