Sentice (German Sentitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located five kilometers southeast of Tišnov and belongs to the Okres Brno-venkov .

geography

Sentice is located at the foot of the Brno Mountains in the Boskowitz Furche . The Sentický brook has its source in the village. To the northeast rises the Čebínka (433 m), in the southwest and northwest the two peaks of the Sokolí (419 m and 398 m respectively).

Neighboring towns are Hradčany in the north, Malhostovice in the northeast, Čebín in the east, Moravské Knínice in the southeast, Chudčice and Veverská Bítýška in the south, Kopaniny, Holasice , Lažánky and Šárka in the southwest, Heroltice in the west and Vohančice , Březina and Tišnovest in the northwest.

history

Sempczicz was first mentioned in a document in 1358. There was a fortress in the place, which was destroyed in the second half of the 15th century during the Bohemian-Hungarian War. In 1519 the village was attached to the Veveří rule . In 1588 the desert fortress was named as part of the Veveří rule. The oldest local seal dates from 1694. It showed two crossed scythes and the inscription Gedyna Semtice . The township of Sentitz from 1826 is the oldest cartographic representation of the village. Until the middle of the 19th century, Sentice was always subject to Veveří.

After the abolition of patrimonial , Sentice formed a municipality in the Brno district and judicial district of Tischnowitz from 1850 . Since 1896 Sentice belonged to the newly formed district of Tischnowitz. After the dissolution of the Okres Tišnov, the municipality came to the Okres Brno-venkov at the beginning of 1961 . The parish is Čebín .

Jiří Jelínek's microbrewery in Sentice is known for its Kvasar beer . The cloudy honey beer is sold in 1.5 l PET bottles and is also produced under license by the Černá Hora brewery .
