Nedvědice (German Nedwieditz ) is a stain in Brno-Country District , Czech Republic .

geography

The village is located below the Pernstein Castle , about forty kilometers northwest of the center of Brno , at the confluence of the Svratka and Nedvědička rivers . It is part of the Svratecká Hornatina Nature Park .

history

Nedvědice

The place was first mentioned in writing in 1350. However, it can be assumed that this village already existed at the time of the first documented entry of Pernstein Castle. Since the 14th century, the Vladikensitz Klečany was located to the southeast. An incident is known from the Thirty Years' War , when the one hundred strong castle garrison successfully resisted the six thousand Swedish soldiers.

Until January 1, 2005 Nedvědice belonged to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou and the Vysočina region . Since 2006 the place has again the status of a Městys .

Local division

The Městys Nedvědice consists of the districts Nedvědice ( Nedwieditz ) and Pernštejn ( Pernstein ) and the locality Klečany ( Kleczan ).

geology

In the district of Pernštejn there are two old stone quarries on Lomy Hill, in which Pernstein marble was extracted until the second half of the 20th century . It is a white to ivory-colored, medium-crystalline marble that can show light gray or gold bands through accessory components. The rock has been mined since the Middle Ages. In the church (1557) in Doubravník there are architectural parts made from this stone. Further applications can be found in cemeteries and churches in Moravia and in the city of Brno . Typical applications in the past were tombs, crosses, sculptures and columns, but also floor slabs and steps in historical monuments. The end of the regular reduction is in 1935.
In terms of stratigraphic part of this marble for crystalinicum in Svratecká- anticline of Moravikums that of the folding of the Olešnické - group was superimposed.
