history

The first written mention of the village took place in 1327 in the founding deed of the Cistercian convent Aula Sanctae Mariae in Old Brno. Stanoviště was one of the villages that the widow Queen Elizabeth Richza gave to the monastery. The original village was located two kilometers east in the Sapouškách forest. It probably went out during the Hussite Wars and was rebuilt in a new place. During this time, Emperor Sigismund seized the monastic property and pledged it.

After the abolition of patrimonial Stanovišť formed from 1850 a district of the municipality Zbraslav in the Brno district. Stanovíště became independent in the 1870s. Stanovíště was dominated by agriculture. After the advent of the Rossitz coal mining industry, around a third of the population earned a living there. In 1905 the municipality was assigned to the Velké Meziříčí district. In the 20th century, pottery in Stanovíště became very important. The basis for this were deposits of high-quality clay and kaolin. In 1948 Stanovíště was assigned to the Okres Velká Bíteš. After its abolition, Stanovíště came to Okres Brno-venkov in 1961. In 2004 the school, which was previously described as one of the drab school buildings in the district, was renovated and modernized. Stanoviště has had a coat of arms and a banner since 2007.
