Krokočín (German Krokotschin , also Krokoczin ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located five kilometers south of Velká Bíteš and belongs to the Okres Třebíč .

geography

Krokočín is located on the right side of the Chvojnice brook opposite the confluence of the Ludvíkovský potok in the foothills of the Křižanovská vrchovina ( Krischanauer Uplands ) in the south of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands . To the north rises the Ramaška (530 m nm), in the southeast the Krokočínská hůrka (498 m nm). There are numerous ponds in the vicinity of the village.

Neighboring towns are Velká Bíteš and Košíkov in the north, Přibyslavice and Ludvíkov in the Northeast, Zálesná Zhoř in the east, Stanoviště , Březina and Újezd u Rosic in the southeast, Horni Mlyn and Hluboké in the south, Křemelík, Otradice and Jinošov in the southwest, Pucov the west and Jasenice , Jindřichov and Demáčky in the northwest.

history

The first written mention of the village took place in 1350, when Jacob of Crococzin the Freihof Horky the Kunzlin of Byteška left. He sold the Horky farm to a Rašek in 1359. In 1437 Krokoczyn already belonged to the Namiest domain , but was pledged to the Saar Cistercian monastery . In 1492, the Krokočín Abbey exchanged for the village of Olešínky with Jan Kladny von Olešnička. Jan Kladny ceded Krokočín a little later to the owner of the Namiest estate, Stephan von Lomnitz .

In 1842 the village of Krokotschin or Krokočjn in the Znojmo district consisted of 27 houses in which 217 people lived. The parish was Jeneschau . Until the middle of the 19th century, Krokotschin remained subject to Fideikommissgrafschaft Namiest.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Krokočín / Krokoczyn 1849 a municipality in the judicial district Namiest . From 1869 Krokočín belonged to the Trebitsch District. At that time the village had 264 inhabitants and consisted of 28 houses. In 1894 a school was built. In 1896, Krokočín was reclassified to the Groß Meseritsch district and the Groß Bittesch judicial district . In 1900 there were 321 people living in Krokočín; In 1910 there were 299. In the 1921 census, 284 Czechs lived in the 46 houses of the community. The volunteer fire brigade was founded in 1929. In 1930 Krokočín consisted of 50 houses and had 211 inhabitants. Between 1939 and 1945 Krokočín / Krokotschin belonged to the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia . In 1948 the municipality was assigned to the Okres Velká Bíteš. In 1950 Krokočín had 254 inhabitants. The JZD Krokočín was founded in 1957. In the course of the regional reform and the repeal of the Okres Velká Bíteš, the municipality was assigned to the Okres Třebíč on July 1, 1960 . The community has had a coat of arms and a banner since 2000; the consecration took place as part of the celebrations for the 650th anniversary of the first mention. In the 2001 census, there were 217 people in the 81 houses in Krokočín.
