history
Benetice was founded in the first half of the 13th century in the course of colonization activities by the Benedictine monastery Třebíč . The village was named after St. Benedict of Nursia . The place was initially attached to the Třebíč manor and was pledged in 1409 to Stibor von Benetice. Subsequently, Benetice belonged to various worldly owners and after the secularization of the monastery in 1468 it became part of the Třebíč rule. In 1774 parts of the village burned down, including the partly wooden church. In 1785 a locality was established in Benetice , which became a parish in 1859 after the construction of the new church . In 1789 the new cemetery was laid out.
After the abolition of patrimonial Benetice formed from 1850 with the district Věstoňovice a political municipality in the Třebíč district. In 1869 there were 214 people in Benetice. In 1890 the place reached the highest population in its history with 267 inhabitants. In 1979 the village was incorporated into Svatoslav. The municipality of Benetice has existed again since 1990 and since 2003 it has had a coat of arms and a banner on which the lion of Mark is depicted on the colors of Count Waldstein -Wartenberg. The district of Benetice today consists of 53 houses and has 136 inhabitants. 56 people live in the twelve houses in Věstoňovice.
