Čikov (German Czikow , 1939–45 Tschikow ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located six kilometers southwest of Velká Bíteš and belongs to the Okres Třebíč .

geography

Čikov is located in the foothills of the Křižanovská vrchovina ( Krischanauer Upland ) in the south of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands . The village lies in the basin of the Bělínský creek. State road II / 392 between Velké Meziříčí and Kralice nad Oslavou runs through the village . To the north rises the Koní vrch (526 m nm), in the southeast of the Na Hložcích (484 m nm). The Čikovská doubrava forest stretches towards the southwest.

Neighboring towns are Lhotka , Holubí Zhoř and Jáchymov in the north, Březka and Nové Sady in the Northeast, Jestřabí and Jindřichov in the east, Jasenice and Pucov the southeast, Důl Pucov, Jedov , Jasinka, Naloučany , Ocmanice and Čikovská Myslivna in the south, Naloučanský Mlyn, Zahrádka and Pyšel in the southwest, Vaneč and Kamenná in the west and Klementice , Holomkův Mlýn, Oslava and Tasov in the northwest.

history

The first written mention of Štikov was in 1368. Johann d. In 1371 J. von Meziříč gave his wife Katharina von St. Görgen 1200 pounds of Viennese denarii as a morning gift to the villages of Štikov , Lhotka and Březka and the Kyjov court. In 1377 Štikov was listed as one of the 14 villages of the Meziříčí manor . Katharina used from Meziříč entered their morning gift on Březka to Elisabeth in 1398. from Světlov and took Elisabeth on the morning gift in Čikov, Lhotka and Zhoř in community. Since 1437 Čikov belonged to the Náměšť rule . The oldest community seal dates from the 18th century.

In 1842 the village of Czikow or Čjkow , located on a hill in the Znojmo district, consisted of 35 houses in which 216 people lived. The parish and school location was Tassau . Until the middle of the 19th century Czikow remained subordinate to the Fideikommissgrafschaft Namiescht.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Číkov / Czikow 1849 a municipality in the judicial district of the United Bittesch . From 1869 Číkov belonged to the Greater Meseritsch District . At that time the village had 293 inhabitants and consisted of 38 houses. A school was opened in 1874. In 1900 there were 330 people in Čikov; In 1910 there were 327. The municipality name was changed to Čikov at the beginning of the 20th century. In the 1921 census, 319 people, including 318 Czechs, lived in the 47 houses of the community. In 1930 Čikov consisted of 50 houses and had 326 inhabitants. Between 1939 and 1945 Čikov / Tschikau belonged to the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia . In 1948 the municipality was assigned to the Okres Velká Bíteš. In 1950 Čikov had 252 inhabitants. In the course of the territorial reform and the repeal of the Okres Velká Bíteš, the municipality was assigned to the Okres Třebíč on July 1, 1960 . In the 2001 census, there were 223 people in Čikov's 62 houses.
