history

The village was probably formed at the beginning of the 13th century and was part of the sovereign Přibyslavice rule . Branechewess was first mentioned in a document in 1234, when Margrave Přemysl gave the place together with the town of Brtnice and eight other villages to the Porta Coeli monastery at the request of his mother Konstanze . In 1240 the abbess exchanged the goods with Wenceslaus I, far away from the monastery, for the more accessible Pánov . In the 14th century the village was divided. The largest part was given to different owners as margravial fiefs. In 1334 Michal Sele von Bransud and Skal received a share of the village, in 1343 Margrave Karl Smil von Lichtenburg enfeoffed another part of Bransouze. The latter part was later given to the brothers Radslav and Smil von Heraltice as a pledge. After both had died without descendants, Margrave Johann Heinrich handed the fallen fiefdom to Peter Hecht von Rossitz in 1366.

The Lords of Heraltice owned another share. This part was halved again in 1373 by Jan von Heraltice and its owners later changed several times. The part belonging to Lords Sele von Bransud passed to Lords von Sázava after 1469. Jan von Sázava and Vranov sold his part to Jan von Heraltice in 1494.

In addition, the Margraves of Moravia also held a small share that belonged to the Brtnica estates and was left to the canons of St. Peter in Brno.

The Hecht von Rossitz's share had been passed on to numerous owners since the Hussite Wars and was handed over to Ulrich von Miličín as a fief by Georg von Podiebrad in 1466 . In 1505 Ulrich the Younger from Miličín sold this part to Zdenko and Burian from Waldstein on Brtnice . After Jan von Heraltice's death, the Lords of Waldstein bought his share and thus owned the two largest parts of Bransouze. After the land register of 1530 the village consisted of 20 farms. The name Bransouze was first used in 1579 . At that time, the estates in Bransouze included a mill and a lime kiln. After the Battle of the White Mountain , the goods of Zdenko von Waldstein, who came from the Sadek line of the family, were confiscated and in 1623 transferred to the President of the Court War Council , Rambold XIII. Collalto et San Salvatore sold. From 1630 Bransouze belonged to the family entourage of the Counts Collalto. In 1707 ownership passed to a younger line of the Counts of Collalto and from 1812 to the Prince of Collalto.

After the abolition of patrimonial Brancouze formed from 1850 a political municipality in the Třebíč district. In 1869 the village had 367 inhabitants and in 1921 there were 381. In 1871 the village received a connection to the railway network with the Iglau-Znaim railway of the Austrian Northwest Railway; the station was named Branzaus-Pirnitz . In 1977 a swimming pool was built on the left side of the Jihlava.
