Přemysl of Moravia
Přemysl of Moravia (also Przemysl , * around 1209, † October 16, 1239 ) was Margrave of Moravia.
Life
Přemysl was the youngest son of the Bohemian King Ottokar I. Přemysl from the family of the Přemyslids and Constanze of Hungary from the family of the Arpad .
He competed with his older brother, King Wenceslaus I of Bohemia, all his life . His decisions, whose royal dignity and supremacy he never seriously recognized. In 1233 he supported the Babenberg Duke Friedrich "the arrogant" of Austria in the fight against the Bohemian king. The hostilities ended in defeat for Přemysl. Thanks to the mediation of his mother, Wenceslaus I forgave his brother. But already in 1237 Přemysl rose again against the King of Bohemia. The renewed uprising again ended in defeat. Přemysl fled to Hungary in 1238, but received part of his fiefdom back on the intercession of King Bela IV . A year later (1239) Přemysl died.
No descendants are known from his marriage to Margarete von Meranien, the younger daughter of Duke Otto I von Andechs-Diessen .
