history

The first written mention of Jessenycz was in 1353 as the seat of the Vladiken family of the same name . The following year a pleban was mentioned in Jessenicz . Most of the village at that time belonged to the Tasov manor . In 1398 sold Hinz of Jessonicz a Freihofstraße to Andreas von Gestřeby; In 1408 he acquired the Jessoniczer shares of the brothers Sezema and Jan von Tasov including half of the church patronage . In 1466 Adam von Gesenicze is proven to be the owner; he is probably the founder of the monstrance from 1473 with the coats of arms of Jasenice and Velká Bíteš , which is now owned by the town of Velká Bíteš. He was followed in 1494 by Georg von Jiesenicz , who sold the village with its farm and parish in 1507 to Ctibor von Janowic . In 1552 the estate belonged to Adam von Janowic; his heir Andreas Gesenicky von Janowic sold the village with the fortress , the farm and the parish in 1567 to Georg Wanecky von Gemnička. Heinrich Wanecky von Gemnička sold the Jesenice estate in 1594, including six interest people in Studnice , four in Vaneč and one in Kamenná for 7,000 Moravian guilders to the owner of the Vaneč estate, Anna Zámořická von Zámořice. In 1603, Zdeněk Zámořický appointed his wife Katharina Dubská von Třebomyslice as heiress of Jesenicz in his will. She bequeathed the estate to her second husband, Karl Grün von Stürzenberg, in 1643. Because of indebtedness the estate was - consisting of the knight's seat, parish, village, courtyard, sheep and gardens - on 1 October 1649 by the country legal Plenipotentiary for 4410 Rhenish guilders to the Moravian Colonel Landrichter Ferdinand Graf von Werdenberg sold it his rule Namiest struck. The parish expired in 1650, the church was assigned to the Jeneschau parish . In the 18th century the place name changed to Jassenitz (1718) or Jasenitz (1794)

In 1842 the village of Jassenitz or Jasenice , located in the Znojmo district , consisted of 33 houses in which 212 people lived. There was a local church of St. Martyr Clement , the Chapel of St. Maria Magdalena as well as a manorial farm with an apartment for the manager and a mill. Until the middle of the 19th century Jassenitz remained subordinate to the Fideikommissgrafschaft Namiescht.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Jesenice / Jassenitz 1849 with the districts Březka , Jestřabí and Jindřichov a municipality in the judicial district Namiest . From 1869 Jesenice belonged to the Trebitsch district. At that time the village had 289 inhabitants and consisted of 39 houses. Since 1872 Jesenice and Jasenice have been used alternatively as Czech place names. In 1882 a village school, which the children from Jindřichov also attended, began teaching. In 1886 a stone bridge was built over the Jasinka. Březka, Jestřabí and Jindřichov broke up in 1892 and formed the municipality of Březka. In 1900 there were 343 people living in Jesenice ; In 1910 there were 341. From 1908 Jasenice was mainly used as the municipality name, this form of name became official in 1924. A new school building was built between 1909 and 1910. In the 1921 census, 351 people lived in the community's 53 houses, 347 of them Czech. In 1929 Jasenice was electrified. In 1930 Jasenice consisted of 58 houses and had 345 inhabitants. Between 1939 and 1945 Jasenice / Jasenitz belonged to the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia . In 1948 the municipality was assigned to the Okres Velká Bíteš. In 1950 Jasenice had 261 inhabitants. In the course of the territorial reform and the repeal of the Okres Velká Bíteš, the municipality was assigned to the Okres Třebíč on July 1, 1960 . In the 2001 census, there were 213 people living in the 70 houses in Jasenice. The former school building is now used as the seat of the municipal administration and library.

Attractions

  • Church of St. Clemens, on the hill east of the village. The originally late Romanesque building was probably built between the 10th and 12th centuries. It was the destination of pilgrimages until 1780. The altar and the three bells date from the 15th and 16th centuries. Renovations were carried out in 1802 and 1844.
  • Chapel of St. Maria Magdalena in the village square. According to tradition, the chapel is said to be older than the church. It originally had the shape of a rotunda with two steps leading down to it. Since 1320, the residents of the area should have gathered here for a procession on Mary Magdalene Day . The landlord Zdeněk Zámořický von Zámořice donated a capital of 1000 Moravian guilders to the chapel around 1590, of which 40 guilders per year went to the pastor of Velké Meziříčí with the obligation to participate in the procession. After the founding of Czechoslovakia, three memorial linden trees were planted near the chapel in 1919.
  • Fortress Jasenice, documented since 1567. One torso is preserved.
  • Memorial to the fallen of the First World War, unveiled in 1929
  • Several wayside crosses
  • Jezevčí jeskyně ( roof cave ) in the Jasinka valley between Jasenice and Jestřabí. It is the largely buried entrance to an iron mine that was abandoned in the second half of the 19th century. The ores were probably processed in the Eichhorn hut or the huts near Nové Město . Not far from Jezevčí jeskyně a silver mine was operated for a while.
