history
Czidlin was first mentioned in a document in 1356 as the property of Nikolaus von Czidlin. Previously, the place belonged to the Louka monastery , which had received a hoof from Cidlina from Margrave Vladislav Heinrich at the beginning of the 13th century . In 1364 part of the village belonged to the estates in Lesonice, which Drslav von Lesonice sold to Jimram von Jakubov , who belonged to a branch of the family of the Lords of Pernstein . From 1415 the place was called Maiori Czygliny because there was another village Cidlinky in the area , which was called desolate since 1513. In the course of the 15th and 16th centuries there were further changes of ownership. In the vicinity was the village of Dubec, which had been called desolate since 1542. In the second half of the 16th century, Maiori Czygliny was also desolate.
In 1624 the rule of Lesonice began with the repopulation of Cidlina. 11 of the 17 farmsteads were again cultivated and the corridors of the extinct village of Martinice south of Babice were added to Cidlina. Because of the unbearable burdens, a revolt of the serfs against the owner Karl Nádasdy broke out in the lordship of Lesonice in 1775, in which the residents of Cidlina also took part. The uprising was bloodily suppressed by the military. In 1843 there were 254 people in Cidlin. Until the abolition of patrimonial in 1849 the village belonged to the Lesonice dominion. Then Cidlina formed a municipality with Babice, Bolíkovice and Lesonice, which was assigned to the political district of Znojmo from 1850 . In 1850 the place had 281 inhabitants, since then their number has been declining. The parish and school location was Babice. In 1875 the municipality of Cidlina was established.
In 1880 Cidlina had 233 inhabitants, all of whom belonged to the Czech ethnic group. Since 1896 the village was assigned to the newly established district administration Mährisch Budwitz . In 1912 a one-class village school began teaching in Cidlina. From 1949 to 1960 the community belonged to the Okres Moravské Budějovice and was assigned to the Okres Třebíč after its dissolution. In 1980 it was incorporated into Lesonice. Since the beginning of 1995, Cidlina has again formed its own community.
