Kojatín (German Kojatin , older also Kogetin ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located ten kilometers east of Třebíč and belongs to the Okres Třebíč .

geography

Kojatín is located above the valley basin of the Vesník brook in the Krischanauer Uplands ( Křižanovská vrchovina ) in the south of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands . The Kojatínský rybník and Mrkovec ponds are located on the outskirts. The Studenec – Křižanov railway runs to the east, and the Kojatín railway station is one kilometer outside of the village. The hill Na Krochotech (491 m) rises south of the village.

Neighboring towns are Doubrava, Spálený Dvůr and Budišov in the north, Holeje in the northeast, Pyšel in the east, Pozďatín in the southeast, Smrk in the south, Hostákov and Opatský Mlýn in the southwest, Valdíkov in the west and Nárameč in the northwest.

history

The first written mention of Kojytín was in 1104 in the founding deed of the Benedictine monastery Třebíč . In 1545 the place burned down completely and remained uninhabited. When Vratislav von Pernstein had the Třebíč estate inscribed in the land table in 1556 , the corridors of the desert village Kojatín were part of it. Later the desert became part of the Namiescht rule. Resettlement began in 1712. In 1752 the Counts of Haugwitz acquired the county of Namiescht .

In 1842 the village Kojatin or Kogetjn , located on a hill in the Znojmo district, consisted of 19 houses in which 119 people lived. The Meierhof Spalenahof was off the beaten track . Until the middle of the 19th century Kojatin remained subordinate to the Fideikommissgrafschaft Namiescht.

After the abolition of patrimonial Kojatín formed from 1850 a district of the municipality Pozďatín in the judicial district of Namiest . From 1869 the village belonged to the Trebitsch district. In the 1921 census, 123 Czechs lived in the 19 houses in the village. In 1964 the village was reassigned to Smrk . Since 1990 Kojatín has formed its own political municipality for the first time in its history.
