history

The village was first mentioned in a document in 1349, when Vladike Jakub von Kojetice bought the interest payments to be paid by the residents to Štěpán von Újezd. In 1373 Jimram from Újezd together with the hill Hradiště including the villages Loukovice, Horní Rokytánka and Dolní Rokytánka also four hooves and Kojetice to Filip from Jakubov . Although Kojetice was below the Sádek Castle, it did not belong to the castle rule until the 16th century, the economic center of which was the Sádek market at the western foot of the castle. In the 15th century, Přech von Kojetice was one of the most important Moravian vladiks. During the Hussite Wars , Kojetice and the surrounding villages were burned down during the siege of Sádek Castle by Jan Žižka. When the troops of the Hungarian king Matthias Corvinus besieged the monastery Třebíč in 1468 , Duke Viktorin fled from Třebíč to the castle Sádek. The Hungarians then moved against Sádek and destroyed Kojetice and Horní Újezd. After the Vladiken von Kojetice died out, their inheritance fell to the Sádek rule in the 16th century, which at that time comprised the entire Jarmeritz basin ( Jaroměřická kotlina ). The Kojetice fortress also went out. The village has always been parish after Horní Újezd .

After the abolition of patrimonial Kojetice formed a political municipality in the Třebíč district from 1850. In 1871 the Jihlava-Znaim railway of the Austrian Northwest Railway was built and the Kojetice na Moravě railway station was built south of the village .
