history

Rudíkov was probably founded in the 11th or 12th century. According to tradition, the place name is said to be derived from a silver mine at the site of the old school. The first written mention of Rvdwicow took place in 1234, when Hermann von Rudíkov transferred the [church patronage] of the Cistercian abbey Marienthal near Oslavany . Two years later Hermann von Rudíkov left the village - probably together with Telečkov - to the Cistercian Abbey. Rudíkov later belonged to the Mostiště manor or the Ossowa manor and finally became part of the Meziříčí manor .

In 1366 Blaha von Oslawyc donated some fields in Khrustov ( Chroustov ) to the church in Rudíkov ; the nearby settlement of Khrustov probably died out around 1467 during the siege of Třebíč by the troops of the Hungarian king Matthias Corvinus . After the dissolution of the Cistercian Abbey of Oslavany, the parish of Rudíkov probably became Protestant in the second half of the 16th century. The parish went out after the battle on White Mountain ; Rudíkov was then parish first to Třebíč and then until 1660 to Tasov . In 1661 a parish was set up again in Rudíkov, which also owned the Bezděkov and Dolňák ponds; the patronage exercised the diocese of Olomouc . In 1666, Paul Gillar was once again a Catholic pastor in Rudíkov. There was a school since 1691. In 1721, the church, which had survived two fires before 1666, burned down. From 1782 the church was under the patronage of the diocese of Brno and from 1787 under the patronage of the Religious Fund . A new church was built between 1801 and 1803. In 1812 a new school building was built.

In 1842 the village of Rudikau or Rudikow , located in the Iglauer Kreis on the trade route from Groß-Meseřitsch to Trebitsch , consisted of 60 houses in which 421 people lived. Rudikau comprised 18 farms, five gardeners and 37 cottagers . The parish belonging to the Trebitsch deanery and the middle school were under the patronage of the religious fund. There was also an inn in the village. Rudikau was the parish for Přetschkau , Ober-Herschmanitz , Klein-Woslawitz , Rohy , Neu-Teletschkau , Wltschatin , Batauchowitz , Hrosniatin and Trebitscher Hof. Until the middle of the 19th century, Rudikau remained subject to the Meziříčí rule.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Rudikov / Rudikau 1849 with the districts Batouchovice , Hroznatín , Přeckov , Vlčatín , Oslavička and Ovčírna a municipality in the judicial district of the United Meziříčí . From 1869 Rudikov belonged to the Groß Meseritsch district . At that time the village had 364 inhabitants and consisted of 64 houses. The school was expanded in 1870 for two-class teaching. In 1875 the school was relocated from house no. 34 and house no. 2. Traffic on the Studenetz – Groß Meseritsch railway began in 1886. Hroznatín and Vlčatín separated in 1887 and formed their own communities. In the same year the three-class school lessons began. In 1900 there were 501 people living in Rudikov ; In 1910 there were 531. In 1920 there were 16 shoemakers, three tailors, two cooperatives, two inns, two tobacconists , two shops, a baker, a blacksmith, a wagner and a master mason. In the 1921 census, 778 people lived in the community's 136 houses, including 775 Czechs and two Jews; the village of Rudikov consisted of 98 houses and had 501 inhabitants. In 1924 the Czech place name was changed to Rudíkov . In 1930 Rudíkov consisted of 92 houses and had 501 inhabitants. The electrification of Rudíkov began only in 1930; Hodov and Nárameč had been connected to the power supply several years earlier. Between 1939 and 1945 Rudíkov / Rudikau belonged to the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia . During this time, the Gestapo searched for Irena Svobodová, the wife of General Svoboda in Rudíkov, who had fled abroad . In 1950 the village had 471 inhabitants. In the course of the territorial reform and the abolition of the Okres Velké Meziříčí, the municipality was assigned to the Okres Třebíč on July 1, 1960 . the district Batouchovice was umgemeindet to Bochovice in 1961 . In 1964, Hroznatín was incorporated . In 1980 Nový Telečkov, Oslavička and Ovčírna were incorporated. The districts broke up again in 1990. At the 2001 census, 659 people lived in Rudíkov's 196 houses.
