Pyšel (German Pischel ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located 8 km northwest of Náměšť nad Oslavou at 468 m above sea level. M. and belongs to the Okres Třebíč . To the west of the village lies the Pyšelský rybník pond.

history

The village of Pissel , located in the Bohemian-Moravian Heights between the Oslava and Jihlava valleys , was first mentioned in documents in 1349. In 1788 the St. Barbara's Church and the rectory were built, and the school started teaching a year later. The volunteer fire brigade has existed since 1898.

In 1794 there lived 275 people in Pyšel, the number of inhabitants increased to 434 by 1870. In 1890 the village had 425 inhabitants.

Vaneč is much older and was mentioned in 1104 in the Třebíč monastery .

Attractions

In addition to the baroque St. Barbara Church from 1788, which has an altar from 1750 inside, and the rectory, the former pilgrimage chapel of the Virgin Mary is located on a wooded hill south of the village.

The most important building is the old fortress in the center of the village. The stone tower of the Lords of Tasov was built before 1300 and is the oldest building in Pyšel.

The municipality Pyšel consists of the districts Pyšel ( Pischel ) and Vaneč ( Wantsch ), which also form cadastral districts.
