Street in Janovice

Janovice (German Janowitz ) is a district of the city of Velká Bíteš in the Czech Republic . It is located immediately southeast of Velká Bíteš and belongs to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou .

geography

Janovice is located on the right side of the Bítýška brook in the Křižanovská vrchovina ( Krischanauer Upland ) in the south of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands . In the north rises the Kříb (495 m nm), northeast the Bítešská horka (494 m nm). The state road II / 395 between Velká Bíteš and Rosice and II / 602 to Říčany lead through Janovice ; The D 1 motorway runs south .

Janovice was first mentioned in writing in 1295 when Hinz von Leipa sold half of the village to the Bitesch judge. Shortly afterwards the judge sold the entire village to Marwold von Ostrawica. In 1504, Ctibor von Janowic sold the desolate farm in Janovice to the brothers Johann and Wenzel von Lomnitz-Namiescht , who sold it to the town of Bitesch for 400 ducats and 200 shock groschen in 1508 together with four ponds and the tenants on the Little Side near Bitesch . Prior to that, in 1505, the citizen's wife Dorothea Hladky had left a foundation of 500 shock groschen on her estate in Janovice for soul masses, distribution among the poor and maintenance of the city and cemetery walls, the bridge and the footbridge over the Bítýška. Later the village of Janovice fell into desolation. In the 19th century a suburb emerged on the corridors of the extinct village.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Janovské Předměstí / suburban Janowitz 1849 a district of the town Velká Bíteš / United Bittesch in the judicial district of the United Bittesch . From 1869 Janovské Předměstí belonged to the Groß Meseritsch district . At that time the suburb had 421 inhabitants and consisted of 63 houses. From 1880 Janovské Předměstí was no longer designated as a district. In 1900 there were 417 people in Janovice; In 1910 there were 472. In 1930 Janovice consisted of 95 houses and had 478 inhabitants. Between 1939 and 1945 Janovice / Janowitz belonged to the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia . 1948 Janovice was assigned to the Okres Velká Bíteš; in the course of the territorial reform and the repeal of the Okres Velká Bíteš Janovice came on July 1, 1960 to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou . In the second half of the 20th century, building activity began in the suburbs; In 1970 189 were counted. Between 1982 and 1992 Janovice was again run as a district of Velká Bíteš, and again since the beginning of 1998. At the 2001 census, 814 people lived in the 233 houses in Janovice. In 2011 Janovice had 834 inhabitants.
