Březka (German Brzeska , 1939–45 Birklein ) is a district of the city of Velká Bíteš in the Czech Republic . It is located five kilometers west of Velká Bíteš and belongs to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou .

geography

Březka is located on the right side above the valley of the Drchalka brook on a plateau in the Křižanovská vrchovina ( Krischanauer Uplands ) in the south of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands . The D 1 motorway runs north . In the east rises the Chocholáč (516 m nm), southeast of the Na Dlouhých (493 m nm) and in the west of the Koní vrch (526 m nm).

Neighboring towns are Jáchymov in the north, Bezděkov and Nové Sady in the northeast, Lánice and Velká Bíteš in the east, Demáčky, Jindřichov and Jestřabí in the southeast, Jasenice in the south, Čikov and Vaneč in the southwest, Tasov in the west and Holubí Zhoř and Křeptovský Dvůr.

history

The village was first mentioned in a document in 1349 together with Březské and Hermanschlag as part of the Bochdalau estate belonging to Heinrich von Ossowa . Between 1366 and 1376 the village belonged half to the Ossowa estate . In 1398 the widow Johanns d. J. von Meziříč took her morning offering on Březka to Elisabeth, the widow of Wilhelm von Swetlow, and took it on the morning offering in Čikov , Zhoř and Lhotka in community. Since 1437 Březka was part of the Namiest County ; How the village got there is not known.

In 1837 the village of Břeska or Březka in the Znojmo district consisted of 21 houses in which 123 people lived. The parish and school location was Tassau . Until the middle of the 19th century, Břeska remained subject to Fideikommissgrafschaft Namiest.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Breška / Brzeska 1849 a district of the municipality Jesenice in the judicial district Namiest . From 1869 Břeska belonged to the Trebitsch district. At that time the village had 157 inhabitants and consisted of 27 houses. The place name was changed to Březka in the 1870s . In 1892 Březka, Jestřabí and Jindřichov broke away from Jesenice and formed the municipality of Březka. In 1896 Březka was reclassified to the Groß Meseritsch district and the Groß Bittesch judicial district . In 1900 there were 142 people living in Březka; In 1910 there were 163. In 1920 Jindřichov and Jestřabí broke up and formed their own community. At the 1921 census, 171 Czechs lived in the 25 houses of the village. In 1930 Březka consisted of 27 houses and had 163 inhabitants. Between 1939 and 1945 Březka / Birklein belonged to the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia . In 1948 the village was assigned to the Okres Velká Bíteš. In 1950 Březka had 123 inhabitants. In the course of the territorial reform and the repeal of the Okres Velká Bíteš, Březka was assigned to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou on July 1, 1960 . On July 1, 1980 it was incorporated into Velká Bíteš. In the 2001 census, 96 people lived in the 29 houses in Březka. At the beginning of 2010 the village had 93 inhabitants.
