history

The first written mention of the village of Brys , which was part of the Ossowa Castle , took place in 1349. In 1398, the village was owned by Jan the Elder's widow. Attributed to J. von Meziříčí as a trousseau. In 1437 the place came under the rule of Náměšť . The southwestern village of Krevlice became extinct in the second half of the 15th century. At the beginning of the 17th century, Březka consisted of 14 properties. Five of them lay desolate after the Thirty Years War. Brzeskiho was parish to Osová Bítýška until 1788 and then came to the parish of Březí.

After the abolition of patrimonial Břeské formed from 1850 a municipality in the district administration Velké Meziříčí . The village school was established in 1899. In 1900 Břeské consisted of 41 houses and 305 inhabitants. After the railway was built in 1908, the community tried in vain for a train station; even when the line was re-routed in 1953, this did not succeed. In 1924 the place was named Březské . During the German occupation, residents of Březské supported the partisans and gave shelter to the widow of General Vojtěch Luža, who was shot in 1944, in the village. On May 8, 1945, the village was mobilized by the retreating German troops and taken one day later by the Red Army. At the beginning of 1961 the community was assigned to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou . In 1979 178 people lived in the village.
