Chlumek is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located twelve kilometers west of Velké Meziříčí and belongs to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou .
geography
Chlumek is located in the south of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands on a ridge on the left side above the valley of the Žďárka. The Pavlínovská horka (614 m) rises to the southeast and the Chlumek (628 m) to the south. To the north lies the Světlá desert.
Neighboring towns are Meziříčko in the north, Měřín and Pustina in the northeast, Stránecká Zhoř , Nová Zhoř and Pouště in the east, Benešov, Geršov and Pavlínov in the southeast, Dvůr, Brodek and Kamenice in the southwest, Kamenička in the west and Řehořov in the northwest.
history
Chlumek belonged to the property of the Měřín Provostry . The village was first mentioned in a document in 1556, when the later Emperor Ferdinand I inherited the place to Vratislav von Pernstein after the provost's office had gone out. In 1585 the Chraustensky bought Chlumek from Malowar and added it to the Černá rule . At that time the village consisted of twelve properties. After the battle of the White Mountain , the Chraustensky goods were confiscated and sent to Rambold XIII. sold by Collalto . In 1757 there were 16 farms in Chlumek, 13 of them farmers. In 1790, 232 people lived in the 27 houses of the village. The parish was Měřín.
After the abolition of patrimonial in 1850, the political community Chlumek was established in the district administration Velké Meziříčí . In 1890 the place consisted of 53 houses and had 326 inhabitants. In 1900 the population had grown to 333. In 1907 a new school building was built. At the beginning of 1961 Chlumek was assigned to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou .
