Sklené (German Sklene , also Sklenny , Glaserdorf ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located seven kilometers northeast of Žďár nad Sázavou and belongs to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou .

geography

Sklené is located in the south of the Saar mountains at the northern foot of the Skalice (781 m). The historic border with Bohemia runs west of the Moravian village . To the northwest rises the Český kopeček (764 m), in the north the Brožova skalka (786 m) and in the southeast the Sklenský vrch (779 m). The main European watershed between the Elbe and the Danube runs through Sklené. The Sklenský potok and Lamperský potok and south of the Staviště, all of which flow into the Sázava , arise north of the village . To the east lies the headwaters of the Medlovka, which flows into the Fryšávka.

Neighboring towns are Kocanda, Brušovec and Herálec in the north, Fryšava pod Žákovou horou in the Northeast, Tři Studně in the East, U Fousků and Vlachovice the southeast, Jiříkovice and Lhotka in the south, Počítky and Výpustek in the southwest, Čvrtě, Stržanov and Polnička the west and Světnov and Cikháj in the northwest.

history

The first written mention of Sklené was in 1407. The name of the village is derived from a glassworks located here. In addition, iron ore was mined in the area, which was smelted in the Polnička blast furnace .

After the abolition of patrimonial Sklenné formed a community in the political district of Neustadtl from 1850 . At the end of the 19th century, the place name Sklenný was used, since 1921 the municipality has been called Sklené . In 1949 Sklené was assigned to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou . Today Sklené is a recreation and winter sports resort. The painter Václav Jícha (1884–1950) and the writer Vladimír Šacha (1903–1986) lived in Sklené.
