history

The village was probably founded in the middle of the 14th century by the Lords of Pernstein . Wyeczow was first mentioned in 1392 when Wilhelm von Pernstein endowed his sister Margarethe with the village as a dowry when she married Ješek Doubravka von Jakubov . The place name is likely derived from a person named Wiecz .

In the 15th century, the village was under the administration of the city of Bistritz , in 1483 the Věcover judge paid the taxes for the 20 settlers to the local executioner. When the Pernstein reign was divided , Věcov came to the Neustadtl - Ingrowitz double share in 1500 and from 1564 to 1848 the village was part of the Neustadtl reign. In 1564 the Rychta (Scholtisei) was built. In the middle of the 17th century, the owner of the Neustadtl estate, Franz Maximilian Kratzer von Schönberg, built several iron works and hammers in the Saar mountains. Iron ore mining was also carried out in the vicinity of Věcov.

The oldest local seal dates from around 1750; it shows the struggle of St. George with the kite. The children from Věcov were educated in Ingrowitz until the end of the 18th century, after which two schools were established in the village. The lower school was Protestant, the upper school Catholic.

After the abolition of patrimonial Wetzau formed a community in the political district of Neustadtl from 1850. In 1869 there were 1725 people in the community, in 1900 it was 1573. In 1922 both village schools were merged. After the Okres Nové Město na Moravě was abolished, the municipality was assigned to the Okres Žďár in 1949 . Jimramovské Pavlovice, Koníkov, Míchov, Odranec and Roženecké Paseky were incorporated in 1961.
