Svratka (German Swratka ) is a city in the Czech Republic . It lies at an altitude of 632 m above sea level. M. in the Saar mountains at the confluence of the Řivnáč in the Svratka .
history
The place was first mentioned in a document in 1350 as part of the Richenburg rule . Its owners were the lords of Pardubitz and Richenburg . At that time Swratka was already known as a town. It originated on the left bank of the river in Bohemian territory on the border with Moravia .
In 1425 the Hussites conquered the city and held it until the Battle of Lipan . In 1558 the city passed together with the rule of Richenburg to Zdenko Berka von Dubá and Lipá . After the Battle of the White Mountain , the estate was confiscated as the property of Wilhelm the Younger von Waldstein . In 1627 the city rights were revoked.
From 1707 to 1823 the Kinsky lords were at Rychmburk Castle and thus also at the Swratka estate, followed by Karl Alexander von Thurn und Taxis .
Industrial companies settled here in the 19th century. They were u. a. Ignatz Fischer's paper factory in Cikanka, the ironworks founded in 1804 and the Ignatz Jebas ignition goods factory built in 1864. On July 6, 1867, Swratka were given city rights again.

The town of Svratka consists of the districts Česká Cikánka ( Bohemian Cikan ), Moravská Cikánka ( Moravian Zikanka ), Moravská Svratka ( Moravian Swratka ) and Svratka ( Swratka ), which also form cadastral districts.
