Moravská Cikánka (German Moravian Cikanka , 1939–45 Moravian Zikanka , in translation "Moravian Gypsy") is a district of the town of Svratka in the Czech Republic. It is located one kilometer southeast of Svratka and belongs to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou .

geography

Moravská Cikánka is located in the center of the Saar Mountains . The scattered settlement is on the right side of the Svratka on the slopes of the V Dolíku hill . State road II / 354 between Svratka and Sněžné runs through the village . To the north rises the Louckého kopec (701 m nm), in the northeast of the Karlštejn (783 m nm), east of the Zkamenělý zámek (752 m nm) and south of the U Osla (709 m nm).

Neighboring towns are Česká Cikánka in the north, Karlštejn in the northeast, Pustá Rybná in the east, Březiny and České Křižánky in the southeast, Cikanecká and Moravské Křižánky in the south, Zadní Hůra and Přední Hůra in the southwest, Moravská Svratka in the north.

history

The course of the Svratka formed the historical border between Bohemia and Moravia . After a hammer mill had been founded on the Bohemian side of the Svratka in 1717, some chalets were also built in the area of ​​the Moravian New Town around 1720 . The new settlement was also called Cikanka and attached to the Moravian village of Svratka . Until the middle of the 19th century, Cikanka was always subject to the Neustadtl rulership.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Cikánka / Cikánka 1850 a district of the municipality Křižánky in the judicial district Nove Mesto. From 1862 the village belonged to the Neustadtl district. In the 1880s the current place name Moravská Cikánka was introduced, at the same time the community was given the new name Moravské Křižánky .

1950 Moravská Cikánka was umgemeindet to Svratka and assigned to the Bohemian Okres Hlinsko. Since 1960 the settlement belongs to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou .
