history

The course of the Svratka formed the historical border between Bohemia and Moravia . On the Bohemian side, the town of Svratka had existed since the middle of the 14th century; the Moravian side consisted of extensive forests, which belonged to the possessions of the Lords of Pernstein and which became part of the Neustadtl lordship in the 16th century .

At the beginning of the 17th century, the owner of the Neustadtl estate, Wilhelm Dubský of Třebomyslice, had two chalets built across from Svratka . The first written mention of the settlement took place in 1626. The first settlers were German hammermen from the Brušovec hammer mill. In 1626 Martin Stolz bought one of the houses, the other one was bought by Wolf Preyssler in 1634. The potter Jakub Tichý built a third chalet in 1635. In 1644 the settlement was called Chalupníci při Český Svratce and was subordinate to the judge in Nemetzky . The settlement was expanded under the scratches of Schönsberg. From 1665 the Moravian village of Svratka formed its own community.

When Franz Maximilian Kratzer von Schönsberg died in 1679, he left behind large debts and the rule went to the administration of one of the main creditors, Prince Ferdinand von Dietrichstein . His son Leopold left the rule in 1699 to the aristocratic Maria Schul family in Brno . The oldest local seal is from 1749. In 1755 the village Sfratka Moravská consisted of 15 houses. The parish and school location was the Bohemian town of Swratka. Until the middle of the 19th century, the village of Swratka was always subject to the Neustadtl lordship.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Svratka / Svratka 1850 a district of the municipality Křižánky in the judicial district Nove Mesto. From 1862 the village belonged to the Neustadtl district. In 1875 the village broke away from Křižánky and formed its own municipality under the name Novoměstská Svratka . At that time the place consisted of 35 houses and had 162 inhabitants. In 1880 the municipality of Novoměstská Svratka refused to pay the school fee to the city of Svratka and was forced to set up its own school. The first village school was set up in 1881 in Chaluppe No. 4, which was bought for this purpose. In the 1880s the current place name Moravská Svratka was introduced. Because of the poor condition of the school building, the community had a new school built in the years 1891-1892.

In 1950, the municipality Moravská Svratka was reclassified in the Bohemian Okres Hlinsko. The school was closed in 1951 and the schoolhouse was later converted into a recreation center. In the course of the municipal reform of 1960 Moravská Svratka was incorporated into Svratka and assigned to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou . Since the 1970s, Moravská Svratka experienced a significant expansion with the construction of single-family houses and terraced houses.
