history

The first written mention of the settlement Křižánky on the border between Bohemia and Moravia was made in 1392 in the land table as one of the 58 villages of the Richenburg rule , the place belonged to Rychta Svratka . Later, a settlement of the same name was built on the Moravian side of the Svratka border stream. During the Hussite Wars the village became deserted and about half of it was deserted afterwards. The glassworks founded in the 17th century led to an expansion of the village. After the closure of the glassworks, an iron hammer was built in Křižánky, which was in use until the second half of the 18th century.

In 1835 the Dominikaldorf Křižanek or Křižanky , located in the south of the Chrudim District on the Moravian border, consisted of 41 houses in which 253 people lived. There were two mills and a board saw in the village. The main sources of income were flax cultivation as well as spinning and weaving. The Catholic parish was Swratka , the Helvetians were parish in Swratauch . Until the middle of the 19th century, Křižanek was always subject to the allodial rule of Richenburg.

After the abolition of patrimonial Křižánky formed from 1850 a municipality in the judicial district of Hlinsko . From 1868 the municipality belonged to the Chrudim district . During this time, file cutting became one of the main sources of income. In 1921 the village was renamed České Křižánky . In the 20th century the village developed into a resort. 1950 the municipality was assigned to the Okres Polička. In the course of the municipal reform of 1960, the municipalities of České Křižánky and Moravské Křižánky merged to form one municipality Křižánky in the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou . Between 1980 and 1990 Křižánky was incorporated into Sázava. After the Velvet Revolution , the municipalities of České Křižánky and Moravské Křižánky emerged again. In 1999 the municipalities of České Milovy and České Křižánky merged to form a municipality of České Křižánky. In 2002, České Křižánky (with České Milovy) and Moravské Křižánky merged again to form the Křižánky municipality.
