history

The place belonging to the Bohemian rule of Richenburg was established in the 17th century when workers from the Berka works in Březiny were allowed to build houses in the river bend. At that time, Milowy was in the triangle of the Moravian lordship of Neustadtl and Ingrowitz . The first written mention took place in 1731. The upswing of the place began in 1835, when the Richenburg rule built the Maxhütte glassworks at the foot of the Čtyří Palice . Around the glassworks operated by Josef Conrath & Co. from Steinschönau the small chalet settlement Huť / Hute was built. Maxhütte had a wide range of production and also exported its products to Spain and France as well as Asia and America.

After the abolition of patrimonial Milovy / Bohemian Millau formed from 1850 a district of the municipality of České Křižánky in the political district of Chrudim . In 1869 there were 367 people in the village. In 1870 a glass grinding shop with an attached stamping mill for processing quartzite rock was built on the road to Březiny. In 1873 the glassworks received a first prize at the Vienna World Exhibition . In 1880 Milovy had 397 inhabitants. After the Maxhütte was closed in 1886, it was demolished between 1893 and 1894. After that, the number of residents also fell sharply. In 1890 the place had only 227 inhabitants and in 1910 there were 177. In 1927 the political municipality Milovy was established. In 1949 Milovy was assigned to the Okres Polička and in 1961 the place came to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou . Milovy was incorporated into Sněžné in 1975 and since then has received the prefix České to distinguish it from Moravské Milovy . In 1990 České Milovy became an independent municipality, which merged in 1999 with České Křižánky and finally in 2002 with Moravské Křižánky to form the municipality Křižánky . In 1991 the village had 32 inhabitants. In 2001 there were 25 people living in 41 houses in České Milovy.
