history

After the royal city of Polička was founded by Přemysl Ottokar II in 1265, German settlers began to colonize the primeval forest in the border area with Moravia. Telecí was probably created as early as the 13th century. The first written mention of Teleczie comes from the year 1403. At this time the church already existed, to which a large parish belonged. In the Hussite Wars , the Catholic diocese Litomyšl became extinct . The residents had become utraquist and joined the Bohemian Brethren movement , whose center and bishopric was in Litomyšl . After the Battle of White Mountain , recatholization began and many of the brothers fled to the Vysočina Mountains . The desolate properties were repopulated after the war, and numerous four-sided courtyards were created . Within the closed courtyards, they could continue to practice their Protestant faith unnoticed. After the Josephine Tolerance Patent of 1781, most of the residents of Teleczy converted to Protestantism and built a Protestant church.

After the abolition of patrimonial Teleczi formed with the districts Landrat and Mrhov in 1850 a municipality in the political district of Polička . 1961 came the place to Okres Svitavy , at the same time Mrhov was umgemeindet to Krásné . In 2002 Telecí was awarded a silver medal at the European Entente Florale Europe competition. The community has had a coat of arms and a banner since 2003.
