Bělá nad Svitavou (German Deutsch Bielau also Biela , Bielau , German Biela ) is a village with 464 inhabitants (August 28, 2006) in the Pardubický region ( Czech Republic ).
history
Deutsch Bielau was first mentioned in writing in 1502. The history of the village is closely linked to the rule of the lords of Svojanov Castle . The hermitage was only settled under Ottokar II Přemysl . From the 17th century until 1809 the village belonged to the domain of the Des Fours-Walderode family , who sold it to the Barons von Bartenstein . This in turn left it to 23 creditors in 1823. In 1883 it was added to the imperial fund until it became the property of the Czechoslovak Republic in 1918.
After the Munich Agreement , the place was added to the German Empire and belonged to the district of Zwittau until 1945 .
After the Germans were expelled after the Second World War, the place was slowly repopulated.
