Svojanov Castle (German: "Fürstenstein") is located in Svojanov in Okres Svitavy in the Czech Republic .
history
The royal castle of Přemysl Ottokar II , built after 1253 but before 1265, was re-fortified in the 15th century by the Lords of Boskovic . In the 16th century the Trcka von Leipa gentlemen built a new palace. After the Thirty Years War , the whole area fell into disrepair. Reconstruction and preservation did not begin until 1910.
Todays use
Today there are some exhibitions in the imposing castle.
