Svojanov (German Swojanow ) is a town with 366 inhabitants (January 1, 2005) in the Pardubický kraj region ( Czech Republic ) in the deep valley of the Křetínka River .

history

The village was first mentioned in a document in 1287. The history of Svojanov is closely related to the castle of the same name. This was built by King Přemysl Ottokar II as a protective castle on the Trstěnický Steig and was later also the seat of Zawisch von Falkenstein and Queen Kunigunde . Since 2006 Svojanov is again a Městys .
