history

Lhota was one of the many villages founded according to the Lhota system , whose settlers were exempt from duties and services to the authorities for a certain period of time. The place was first mentioned in a document in 1347, when Archbishop Ernst von Pardubitz ordered that the village, which he shared with his brothers Bohuta, Smil and Wilhelm von Pardubitz , had to provide services to the Church of the Virgin Mary in Glatz . Between 1436 and 1557 the village belonged to Lord Kostka von Postupitz . The captain of the Chrudim district, Zdeniek Kostka von Postupitz, had a new castle built between 1450 and 1465 on the hill above Boží Dům as the rulership center, which he called Nový hrad . Subsequent owners of the Nový hrad estate were from 1559 Jan Žatecky von Weikersdorf, from 1580 the Popel von Lobkowitz , from 1604 the Barons von Trautson and from 1749 the Counts Harbuval-Chamaré . Between 1774 and 1477, Neuschloß Castle was built as the new mansion .

In 1835, the village of Sucha-Lhota in the Chrudim district consisted of 29 houses in which 190 people, including a Protestant family, lived. The parish was Neuschloß . Sucha-Lhota was always subject to Neuschloß until the middle of the 19th century .

After the abolition of patrimonial Suchá Lhota formed a district of the municipality of Chotovice in the judicial district of Leitomischl . From 1868 the village belonged to the political district of Leitomischl . In 1901, the municipal representatives decided to split into the municipalities of Chotovice, Suchá Lhota and Příluka with effect from 1903. In 1929 the village consisted of 40 houses and had 228 inhabitants. The water tower was also built in this year. In 1961 the village came to Okres Svitavy. In 1966 it was incorporated into Příluka, and since 1970 the village has been independent again. In 2018 the municipality won the Village of the Year competition .
