The historical border between Bohemia and Moravia ran south and east of the village .

history

Chrastavec was first mentioned in writing in 1241, when the Bohemian King Wenceslaus I included the Chrastavec stronghold belonging to Oldřich Chrastavec in the national defense system. It became part of the line of defense that stretched from the Boskovice Castle through the Chrastavec Fortress, the Magdalene Monastery near Hlásnice to the Fürstenberg Castle . Later the village became part of the Svojanov rule. Over time it was referred to as Česká Chrastová and Crosta . When the Svojanov rule was divided, the village became part of the Bystré rule . The owners included u. a. Hartwig Zeydlitz from Schönfeld. Later, Simon Kratzer von Schönsberg bought the Gut Deutsch Bielau with the villages of Deutsch Bielau, Vítějeves , Chrastavec, Brněnec , Půlpecen and Zářečí and established the dominion Deutsch Bielau from it. In 1629 Kratzer sold the rule for 28,000 Rhenish guilders to Otto Melander von Schwarzenthal. Melander later sold the property to the lord of Křetín , Jacub Cappaun. After the Thirty Years' War he brought all of his subjects back to Catholicism by 1651. In 1656 Marie Elisabeth Egs sold the dominions to Johann Walderode von Eckhausen. In 1670, Emperor Leopold I had it confirmed as a family affidavit. Johann Paul Leopold Count Walderode bought the Bystré rule in 1686, but it was not attached to the Fideikommiss. Count Walderode did not care in the least about the management of his estates, while the captain Antonín Tyderle, appointed by him in Bystré to manage the property, managed the six dominions Řepín , Bystré, Deutsch Bielau, Křetín, Újezd and Vysoká Libeň. The heavily indebted Count Walderode fell out of favor with the emperor, abandoned his goods and entered the Znojmo monastery in 1694 , where he died in 1698 without direct descendants. The administrator Georg Reichard, who was then officially appointed to Bystré, did not fulfill his duties either. In 1703, after a large number of complaints, the administration was lifted and Reichard was arrested. The rule of Bystré was auctioned for 234,000 guilders and the Fideikommiss Deutsch Bielau was handed over to Johann Podiwin Graf Walderode. After the Walderode family died out, the property fell to the Counts of Desfours . In 1808 Joseph Graf von Desfours-Walderode sold the entails for 125,000 guilders to Emanuel Freiherr von Bartenstein . Until the middle of the 19th century Chrastavec was always subject to the dominion of Deutsch Biela.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Polopeceň and Chrastavec 1850 districts of the municipality Vítějeves in the district administration Polička . In 1863, following bankruptcy, the manorial property was sold off to the creditors. During the German War in 1866 there was a bloody battle between Austrian and Prussian troops. In 1880 the municipality of Chrastavec was established with the district Pulpecen. The ownership rights to Fideikommiss went to the k. k. Private fund that had previously bought the rulership.

According to the Munich Agreement , Chrastavec became a border town to the German Reich in 1938, the district of Pulpetzen, which is mainly inhabited by Czechs, had to be ceded to the municipality of Mährisch Chrostau and until 1945 belonged to the district of Zwittau .

After the end of the Second World War, Půlpecen became part of Chrastavec again. In 1950 the municipality was assigned to the Okres Svitavy .
