Gerd Rosendahl
Gerd Rosendahl (born September 8, 1956 ) is a former German handball player and entrepreneur.
Career
Gerd Rosendahl learned to play handball at TV Oestrum (later VfL Rheinhausen). After the very successful A-youth period at VfL Rheinhausen, he was poached by OSC Rheinhausen and played there for a short time, later national coach Vlado Stenzel brought him to VfL Gummersbach and won several national and international titles with VfL Gummersbach. In 1984 he moved to Wermelskirchen; In 1986 he played again for VfL Gummersbach.
Gerd Rosendahl was a member of the German national handball team from 1976 to 1983. He was part of the national team that became world champions in 1978 .
Until 2008 he was also the managing director of the automotive supplier ISE .
Awards
In 1978 he received the silver laurel leaf from the then Federal President Karl Carstens as an award for the world championship title he had won that year. As the third of a total of sixteen VfL players, he received the VfL Gummersbach All-Star jersey in 2006.
